General Questions About Counseling
Q: What can I expect during my first session? A: The first session is about getting to know each other. We’ll discuss your goals, challenges, and what brought you to therapy. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit. Q: How do I know if therapy is right for me? A: If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want support in navigating life’s challenges, therapy can help. Many people seek counseling for clarity, growth, or healing—there’s no "wrong" reason to begin. Q: How long does therapy usually take? A: It depends on your goals. Some clients find a few sessions helpful for specific issues, while others benefit from longer-term support. We'll regularly check in on your progress together.

Logistics & Policies
Q: Do you offer online or in-person sessions? A: Yes, I offer both online (teletherapy) and in-person sessions. Teletherapy can only be provided for those who currently reside in the state of Ohio. You can choose the option that feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Q: What are your fees, and do you accept insurance? A: My standard fee is $150 per session. I am in-network with numerous insurance carriers, and I can provide a superbill for reimbursement if applicable. Sliding scale options may be available if you would prefer to not use insurance—please ask. Q: What is your cancellation policy? A: I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged directly to the client (typically equal to the cost of a full session).

Engagement & Comfort
Q: What if I feel nervous about starting therapy?
A: That’s completely normal. Many people feel uncertain at first. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself at your own pace. Q: Can I stop therapy at any time?
A: Absolutely. You’re in control of your therapy journey. We’ll regularly review how things are going, and you can pause or end therapy whenever you feel ready.

Specializations
Q: What types of issues do you specialize in? A: I most often work with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma recovery, grief, various life transitions. If you're unsure whether I can help, feel free to reach out for a free consultation. Q: Do you work with children, teens, or couples? A: I work with adults, teens, and couples. If I’m not the right fit, I’m happy to provide referrals.

Q: Is what I share kept confidential? A: Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as safety concerns). We’ll go over confidentiality in detail during our first session. Q: Are you licensed?
